The WIPCOOL non-contact AC voltage detector is a pen-shaped handheld tool that senses the presence of alternating current (AC) voltage in wires, outlets, or circuit breakers without direct contact.

It uses electromagnetic fields to trigger visual (flashing lights) and audible (buzzer) alarms, making it essential for quickly and safely checking for live wires, finding breaks, and verifying voltage in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

The colour change of the LED light indicates the two sensing states of high and low voltage, which is convenient for the operator to get the information quickly.

Why a  WIPCOOL Non-Contact Voltage Detector Beats Multimeters & Clamp Meters

  • Zero-Contact Safety: Standard multimeters require you to touch metal probes directly to live, exposed electrical contacts. A clamp meter can measure current through wire insulation, but standard models cannot detect the presence of voltage without metal-to-metal contact. This WIPCOOL non-contact voltage detector detects the electrostatic field through outer wire insulation, drywall, or plastic outlets.

  • Trace Hidden Breaks: Because the WIPCOOL AVD24 senses electric fields along the entire length of a cord, you can slide this pen along an insulated wire to pinpoint the exact location of an internal cable break. Standard multimeters and clamp meters cannot perform trace tests through intact insulation.
