Key Technical Specifications of Sopormetal 45% Silver Blue Flux Brazing Rod

  • Alloy Composition: 45% Silver (Ag), 30% Copper (Cu), and 25% Zinc (Zinc).
  • Safety Certification: 100% cadmium-free and certified to BS EN ISO 17672 European standards
  • Melting Range: Solidus of 1225°F (663°C) and Liquidus of 1370°F (743°C) (see below for explanation).

In metallurgy, the solidus is the temperature or boundary line below which a metal alloy or solid solution is completely solid. It marks the exact temperature where a heated alloy begins to melt.

The liquidus is the lowest temperature at which a mixture, such as a metal alloy, glass, or rock, is completely liquid. Liquidus temperature of 1370°F (743°C) is the exact temperature at which an alloy (such as a silver brazing rod) completely melts and turns entirely into a liquid. Below this temperature, down to its solidus point, the metal exists as a slushy mix of solid and liquid crystals.

Performance & Applications of Sopormetal 45% Silver Blue Flux Brazing Rod
