APPLICATION
The optical level monitoring INT278 is employed for contactless single-point measurement of liquid levels, e.g. for compressors, pumps, containers, etc.
The solution consists of a screw-in and an evaluation part.
The screw-in part is permanently installed at the measuring point for optical level recording. The electronic evaluation part can be mounted or replaced without having to open the circuit of
the medium to be monitored.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Light pulses of the device are refracted in fluids and reflected in gaseous environments. Thus the INT278 reliably recognizes the fluid level.
After the compressor starts, the level monitoring becomes active after expiry of the starting transition.
The reactions are time delayed, to prevent unnecessary switching in response to temporary fluctuations in the fluid.
If the level is too low or in case of a malfunction, the relay drops locked. Restart only after a reset.
The potential-free changeover contact can be looped directly into a safety chain without auxiliary relays.
An integrated self-monitoring ensures increased operational reliability; an installation check ensures the proper installation.
An installed LED signals the current status.
